No.7 Forest Villas
Number Seven Forest Villas is a modern three-storey villa with a traditional tiled roof and finished with rustic stone in the local style.
The villa is in a commanding position to the front of the other three neighbouring properties. It receives direct sunshine throughout the day and has an open aspect with views of the surrounding hills and mountains, and distant views of the sea.
The villa is situated on the outskirts of Calis in a quiet neighbourhood consisting of mostly private villas, an old peoples' home(huzurevi) and a few small farms. This is an ideal location for avoiding the hustle and bustle of the main resort while still enjoying the convenience of being just a short walk from the bars, shops and restaurants at Calis Beach.
The villa sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, three on the first floor and one on the second floor.
There is a small garden, a roof-top sun-terrace, balconies and a veranda overlooking the kidney shaped private pool.
Forest Villas is an easy level twenty minute walk from Calis Beach and a short dolmus(local mini-bus) ride from Fethiye, the nearest large town. The Dolmus can be caught directly outside the villa and there is a local taxi call button just down the road. During the summer of 2011 the Dolmus was running three times per hour in the daytime, having previously only operated an hourly service. The villa is approximately forty-five minutes by road from Dalaman airport.
Bedding and towels, including beach towels, is provided. The villa is fully air-conditioned.
No.7 Forest Villas is maintained for us by local english-speaking management agents. If you experience any problems with the villa during your stay, they are available by phone or by calling in at their office in Calis Beach. They also provide airport transfers and can supply cots and high-chairs for small children.
Calis Beach
Calis is a small but busy resort town catering to the visitors staying in the hotels and surrounding apartments. There is a Sunday market, a number of small supermarkets and corner shops selling food. There are also lots of gift shops selling souvenirs and beach wear. Calis also has a water dolmus service to Fethiye.
Most of the bars and restaurants are situated on the palm lined promenade overlooking the beach. Free WiFi is quite common and some bars have english or european satellite TV for football matches. This is also a great place to stroll and watch the spectacular sunsets.
Calis has a choice of local travel agents offering a variety of tours and activities. There are several historical sites to visit, in addition to trips to Turkish baths, quad biking, jeep & truck safaris, boat trips and water sports, white-water rafting and paragliding. There is also a small water park in Calis.
Calis Beach itself consists of a mixture of sand and pebbles. Most of the local shops sell cheap beach shoes in addition to snorkels and buoyancy aids.
In season, the beach is visited by loggerhead turtles which lay their eggs in the sand, when this happens small sections of the beach will be closed. There is also a nature reserve at the south end of the beach which is home to various water birds including pelicans who look for fish in Fethiye bay.
